In short

Every Komodo yacht tour includes meals aboard, snorkelling gear, an English-speaking guide, drinking water and harbour transfers in Labuan Bajo — plus a cabin on overnight formats. The park entrance ticket is never included.

  • Day tour: breakfast, lunch, snacks, gear, guide, transfers.
  • Share cabin 3D2N: all of that, plus your cabin, linen and two nights aboard.
  • Private charter: the whole vessel, its crew, fuel for the agreed route and full board.
  • Never included anywhere: park fee, diving, alcohol, insurance, flights, gratuities.

What every format carries

These do not change with the price you pay or the cabin you book.

Vessel and fuel

The boat for the agreed duration and fuel for the full route — not a base leg with the rest billed after.

Crew and guides

Licensed captain, deckhands, and park-certified guides at every landing. The ranger who walks you past a dragon does not know what you paid.

Meals aboard

Cooked in the galley, plus snacks, drinking water, coffee and tea. Dietary requirements handled if they come at booking rather than at boarding.

Snorkelling gear

Masks, snorkels, fins and towels in a range of sizes, child sizes included on request.

Harbour transfers

Between your Labuan Bajo accommodation or Komodo Airport and the pier, at both ends.

Safety equipment

Life jackets for every guest and crew member, life rafts, radio and first aid. Not a tier feature.

What each format adds on top

The differences between the three, in order of what you are actually buying.

Day tour

Breakfast and lunch aboard, five to six stops, back in Labuan Bajo before sunset. No cabin, and you still pay for a hotel that night — worth putting in the sum when you compare formats.

Share cabin 3D2N

Adds your cabin, bed linen and towels, two nights aboard and every meal for the duration. Serviced through the trip. Eight to twelve travellers share the boat.

Private charter

Adds the entire vessel and its crew for your dates, a route agreed with the captain, and tenders on call. Priced per night for the boat rather than per person.

Paddleboards, kayaks and beach set-ups vary by vessel rather than by format. Ask which boat you are on before assuming any of them.

Starlink is fitted on seven of the nine owned vessels, so most departures have working internet — satellite, so it slows under load.

The three lines that surprise people

None of them is a hidden charge. All three are simply not ours to collect or not ours to give away.

Park entrance fee

International visitors pay approximately USD 40–50 per person for the Komodo National Park ticket, while Indonesian visitors pay around USD 20–25 per person. This fee is separate from the tour price, and no operator can include or waive it.

Diving

Snorkelling is included on every format; diving never is. It runs USD 50–80 per dive with tank, weights and guide, because it needs certified dive staff and compressor time, plus about IDR 25,000 per diver per day to the park.

Gratuities

Not compulsory and never added to the invoice. The operator suggests 10–15% if you want a figure to work from. Crews are salaried, so it is a thank-you rather than a wage.

Also outside every fare: flights to Labuan Bajo, travel insurance, and alcohol — which is usually BYO from town, sometimes with corkage. Ask before you buy a case.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the park fee ever included?
No, on any format and at any price. The Komodo National Park ticket costs approximately USD 40–50 per international visitor and USD 20–25 per Indonesian visitor, and it is charged separately. An operator advertising an all-in price that appears to absorb it is quoting a higher number.
Are meals really all included?
Yes — three a day on overnight trips, breakfast and lunch on day tours, plus snacks, drinking water, coffee and tea throughout. Alcohol is the exception and is usually brought aboard from Labuan Bajo.
Is snorkelling gear provided?
On every format, in a range of sizes including child sizes on request. Bring your own mask if you have a prescription lens or a fussy fit — everything else is aboard.
What about towels and linen?
Beach towels on every format. Cabin linen and bath towels on overnight trips, serviced through the trip.
Do you include flights?
No. Flights to Labuan Bajo are yours to book. Transfers between the airport or your hotel and the harbour are included, at both ends.
What if I have a dietary requirement?
Tell us at booking and it is handled properly. Telling the galley on boarding day means doing the best they can with what was already provisioned, which is a worse trip for you.
