The cheapest way to see Komodo properly is a shared cabin on a 3D2N open trip from USD 300 per person, or a shared day tour from USD 90 per person if you only have one day — both including meals, guides and snorkelling gear.
- Lower-deck and shared cabins at three or four guests are where the USD 300 sits.
- Shoulder months — April to June, September to November — cost less than July and August.
- Add approximately USD 40–50 per international visitor or USD 20–25 per Indonesian visitor for the Komodo National Park ticket.
- A 50% deposit confirms and is non-refundable, so book dates you are sure of.

Occupancy is the lever that moves price most. The same cabin at four guests can be a third cheaper per head than at two — tell us your group and we will price both.
Where you can save, and where you cannot
Three levers are genuinely free money. One is not a lever at all.
Travel in the shoulder
April to June and September to November sit inside the dry season but outside peak demand. Same itinerary, calmer boats, lower rates. September to November also gives the clearest water of the year.
Fill the cabin
Quad and triple cabins price per person. Four friends in one cabin is the single biggest saving available, and nobody spends waking hours in there anyway.
Never the operator
This is the one that is not a saving. A boat priced far below the range here is cutting crew, maintenance or safety equipment, and you are in a remote national park when that matters.
Be cautious of anyone asking 100% upfront to a personal account, or quoting a price that appears to include the park ticket. No operator can include or waive that fee.

- A shared day tour from USD 90 per person. But if you are comparing honestly, add the Labuan Bajo hotel night you still need — at which point the USD 300 share cabin, which includes two nights and all meals, is usually the better buy.
- Are there discounts or last-minute deals?
- Not as a published programme. Prices move with season and occupancy rather than promotions, so the real lever is flexible dates in the shoulder months and filling a cabin. Ask us what is cheapest across a range of dates and we will tell you.
- Is a cheap boat safe?
- Ours are, at every price — life jackets, rafts, radio and first aid are standard across the fleet. But in Labuan Bajo generally, a rate far below the range on this page is coming out of crew, maintenance or equipment. That is the one corner not worth cutting in a remote park.
- Can I share a cabin with a stranger to save money?
- Yes, in the shared bunk classes, and you would be bunked with same-gender guests. Deluxe and Superior cabins are private. The saving is real; whether it suits you is a personal call.
- What is not included at any price?
- The IDR 700,000 park ticket, gratuities, travel insurance, flights to Labuan Bajo, alcohol, and diving at USD 50–80 per dive. Budget for the park fee especially — it is the one people forget.
