A Komodo share cabin trip sells a fixed 3D2N itinerary cabin by cabin until the yacht fills — typically 8 to 12 guests plus crew — with departures from Labuan Bajo, all meals and activities included, from USD 300 per person.

The simplest way to think about it: you are buying a cabin on a boat that is going anyway, rather than commissioning the boat.

Per person, in USD, excluding the park entrance fee. The difference between classes is the cabin, not the itinerary — every guest gets the same stops.
Lower deck & shared

Bunk and lower-deck cabins, and private cabins taken at three or four guests. The cheapest way aboard — Malca's Quad Room works out at $330 per person at four.

Deluxe & master cabins

per person, 3D2N
A private en-suite cabin for two. The class most guests book — Ayvara's Master Cabin with its private balcony sits at $570 per person.
Suites

The break-even is roughly six people: below that the share cabin is almost always cheaper, above it a charter often is. Tell us your group size and we will do the arithmetic honestly, even when it points away from the pricier option.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will I have to share a cabin with a stranger?
- Only if you book a shared bunk class, and then only with same-gender guests. Deluxe and Superior classes are private cabins — couples and solo travellers booking those have the room to themselves.
- How many people are on the boat?
- Typically 8 to 12 guests plus crew, depending on the vessel. That is small enough that the crew learns everyone by name, which comes up repeatedly in reviews.
- What is included in the price?
- Your cabin, all meals and drinking water, snorkelling gear, tenders, licensed park guides, cabin linen and crew. Excluded: the IDR 700,000 park entrance fee, gratuities, travel insurance, and flights to Labuan Bajo.
- How far ahead should I book?
- For April–November dry-season dates, six to ten weeks. July and August are the busiest and the good cabins go first. Wet-season dates can often be booked much closer in.
- What if the boat does not fill?
- Scheduled departures sail. If a sailing genuinely cannot run we tell you as early as we know and move you to the next date or refund you — we do not quietly downgrade the vessel, which is the standard complaint about brokers in Labuan Bajo.
- How do I pay?
- A 50% deposit confirms the cabin, and the balance is due 30 days before departure. Be cautious of any operator asking for 100% upfront to a personal account.
